Black – represents the black majority of people

 

Yellow – signifies the country’s mineral wealth

 

Red – symbolises the blood spilled during the liberation struggle

 

Green – represents Zimbabwe’s vegetation and agriculture.

 

White - a triangle on the left hand side of the flag contains the country’s national emblem, a Zimbabwe Bird, in yellow, on a red five-point star.  The white symbolises peace, while the red star symbolises hope for the future.
